PERITONEAL DIALYSIS (CAPD)
& HOME DIALYSIS

Description

Peritoneal Dialysis is one type of dialysis process. It cleans your body as well as it also helps in replacing the work of damaged kidneys. It plays a major role in controlling the water in the body. CAPD is the most portable type of dialysis.

It uses the manual bags containing peritoneal dialysis fluid. Peritoneal Dialysis is a way to remove waste products from your blood when your kidneys are no longer adequate to do their job. This procedure filters the blood in a different way than the normal way of filtering the blood in the body.

Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)

This treatment is called peritoneal dialysis (PD) because the filtering of the blood is done in the peritoneum – the membrane that lines the cavity.
The peritoneal cavity acts as a storage area for the dialysis fluid and the filtration takes place across the peritoneum.  Toxins and excess fluid cross the peritoneal membrane during the pre-scribed dwell time.
A permanent tube or catheter, is inserted into the peritoneal cavity. Through which, dialysis fluid is fed into the cavity and left to absorb the impurities from the blood. Later, the fluid is drained-off into a bag and replaced with fresh fluid. This process of filling and draining, can be done manually during the day (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis, CAPD) or using an automatic process at night with a cycler (Automated Peritoneal Dialysis, APD). Either way you will need to feel capable and confident to handle the procedure.

Who is Peritoneal Dialysis Right for?

There are times when peritoneal dialysis may be the better option. But in many cases, it’s a medically-driven choice. For example, if you have some types of heart or vascular disease. Because of their restricted vascular access, peritoneal dialysis is usually the treatment choice for young children. Opting for dialysis at home also allows children to continue their schooling.

Peritoneal Dialysis Products

We, Gayatri Pharmaceuticals deal with wide range of products and equipments that are used and involved in the Peritoneal Dialysis treatment. We offer the below mentioned equipment for the treatment of Peritoneal Dialysis Process.

01.CAPD 2 STAY SAFE

This product contains Glucose monohydrate equivalent to 15.0 g glucose (83.2mmol/l). This is used for the cleaning of the blood through the peritoneum in patients with end stage chronic kidney failure. This is termed as Peritoneal Dialysis.

02.CAPD 3 STAY SAFE

Peritoneal Dialysis with high concentration of glucose, i.e., Glucose monohydrate equivalent to 42.5g glucose (235.8mmol/l). CAPD should be used with the peritoneal cavity only.

03.CAPD 4 STAY SAFE

This product contains Glucose monohydrate which is equivalent to 22.73 g glucose  (126.1mmol/l). This is also a product used for the cleaning of the blood termed as dialysis.

04.STAY SAFE DRAINAGE SET

Stay safe drain set is used for the patients who are having acute chronic end stage renal disease undergoing peritoneal dialysis. It is used to connect directly to the stay safe catheter extension set to enable drainage and/or effluent sampling as needed.

05.CATHETER ADAPTOR LUER LOCK

Luer to Catheter tip adapter, Polypropylene adapter with a female luer lock connector on one end and a male catheter on the other end.

06.CATHETER EXTENSION

Catheter Extension provides additional back-up support facilities, and it also facilitates the easy delivery of the ancillary devices.

07.HOLDER FOR ORGANISOR
